Week Two: Fables, Myths and Legends

Why do you think fables, myths and legends have had so much impact on storytelling? Fables, myths and legends have always had an impact on storytelling; they are some of the oldest forms of narrative. They're often linked to culture and history and can be used to preserve values and create a sense of community belonging as well as imparting a moral or explanation for something that might've been otherwise unexplainable. As well as this, they are a form of entertainment beyond cultural significance, which is why urban legends have prevailed despite not necessarily imparting a moral lesson.  Create and idea for a game that's based on a fable, myth of legend (traditional or urban). If I were to create a game based on a fable, myth or legend, I'd probably look into urban legends that I'm familiar with. Week 1: Project Creation

For this project, I will be managing it using the software "Jira." Jira allows me to visualise the tasks I need to do on a timeline and priorities the most important parts of the project. This will help with maintaining the scope of the project, as it could easy go out of hand.  In terms of the actual project, there are a few ideas that I have. The first is a negotiation interaction between the player and an NPC. The idea is that they player would be able to negotiate the terms of a job/contract and the outcome of the conversation would be different depending on the choices that the player makes. The player would also be able to learn narrative through the interaction.
